Have a Genuine Leather Phone Case? Here's How Take Care of It!

It's estimated that by the end of 2020 there will be more than 250 million smartphone users in the US. That's more than 70% of the population.

With the price of smartphones continuing to rise, a lot of people are investing in protective gear such as a leather phone case to keep their phone safe.

A leather phone case is a great choice as it not only protects your phone but also looks stunning. If you've got a genuine leather phone case, you'll want to take care of it.

Read on as we look at exactly how to care for your leather phone case.

Keep Away From Liquids

Leather is fairly absorbent, so you'll want to try and keep it away from liquids such as water and oil.

Leather can also absorb liquid from places you might not expect, including some kinds of makeup, discarded food, and even the dye on clothes. Try to be aware of where you're placing your phone to minimize the risk of stains.

To keep your leather safer from accidental spills, consider using a leather waterproofing spray. This will add an extra layer of protection to your leather phone case.

First, clean any debris from the case, then spray generously over every part of the leather. You may want to add further coats once the first has dried.

Keep It Clean

The key to keeping your genuine leather phone case looking great is keeping it clean.

If you do have spills, spots, or stains, then apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a lint-free cloth and gently rub it into the leather. Allow it to dry naturally and your leather should look as good as new.

Once it's dry, apply a little leather conditioner which will give it an extra bit of protection.

Deal With Watermarks

If you've managed to acquire some watermarks before you got a chance to add any waterproofing, then there is a simple way to deal with them.

Surprisingly, you use water. Take a damp cloth, and rub around the edge of the watermark where the stain should be most obvious. Work in a circular motion out from this point, and allow the leather to dry naturally.

You should find that your watermark is no longer visible. Use a waterproofing spray to ensure that you don't have a repeat of the same problem.
