From Cases to a Collection
BlackBrook began with a simple belief: a phone case should feel as good in year three as it does on day one. What started as a small run of full-grain leather iPhone cases has grown into a complete collection of everyday leather goods, from wallet cases and MagSafe wallets to bags, laptop sleeves, and Apple Watch bands.
Through every new design, one thing hasn't changed. Each piece is still cut, stitched, and finished by hand in small batches, using leather chosen for the way it ages and the character it gains over time.
The Beginning of the Story
Our first chapter was written in New York in 2014, under a different name: Burkley Case, a maker of premium, handcrafted leather accessories that protect what you carry every day, with a feel that never goes out of style. That chapter opened with a small line of wallet cases cut from full-grain leather, the strongest top layer of the hide, kept natural so its grain and texture stay intact. Built for daily use rather than careful handling, each one was designed to look better with every season.
2014-2020
The Collection Grows
As customers carried our cases for years, they started asking for more: a wallet to match, a bag for the commute, a sleeve for the laptop. So we grew, one considered product at a time. Today the range covers iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel cases, iPad covers, Apple Watch bands, MagSafe wallets, bags, and laptop sleeves, all built with the same full-grain leather and hand finishing as our very first case.
2021
Burkley Become BlackBrook
As the collection expanded, so did our vision. Burkley Case became BlackBrook Case, and we moved our operations to Florida to focus more closely on premium leather goods.
The name changed. The craft didn't. Every piece is still made in our Istanbul workshop by skilled leather artisans, using full-grain leather sourced from Turkey and finished by hand, never on a factory line.
